Just some quick, but important updates to know about.  :)

Weekend Grading

• Please note that, like you, we teachers try to have a non teacher life sometimes.  Therefore, be aware that I do not do any grading or school work on the weekends.  If you really need something graded over the weekend, please contact me beforehand to let me know so I can plan for it. 

Turnaround Time on Grading

• Also, I want let you know that it is my policy to grade most work within 24 hours of you turning it in (excluding weekends of course).  Therefore, if you need something graded right away, you will need to contact me beforehand to let me know the circumstances.  If I, on the other hand, foresee that I will be longer in grading, I will do my best to also let you know.

Scheduling Oral Exams

• Finally, I know that we all have different and crazy schedules.  That is why I’ve tried to vary my office hours throughout the week.  Therefore, if you need to schedule an oral exam with me, take a look at my office hours to see what works for you.  If you have a special circumstance, contact me and we can work on finding an alternate time that works for both of us.

Who doesn't love extra credit points?! 

This one is pretty easy.  Show up in my elluminate room during my office hours to get help or update me on how you are doing on your coursework, and I’ll give you bonus points in the course.  Seriously, you’re already on the computer working (RIGHT?), so why not pop in and say hi?  I can give an essay a quick look before you officially turn it in, help you find more information about a topic, or even give you an update on your grade.  Remember that you can find the link to my room on the Teacher Contact Information page at the beginning of your course.

Hello fantastic LAVA-ers and onlookers!  I am excited to be able to keep in contact with you all with my new teacher blog.  My plans for this are to keep you up to date with upcoming LAVA events, celebrating our achievements and sharing educational and technical information I find interesting and useful.
